About the actual vehicle
During World War II, the Italian Army deployed and operated the Carlo Armato medium tank and the Semovente assault gun based on it. The Carlo Armato was Italy's first full-fledged medium tank, officially adopted in 1939, and was developed almost simultaneously as an improved version of the M11/39. The development period was shortened by enlarging the M11/39 chassis and using the same suspension as before. It was equipped with a fully rotating turret on top of the hull and mounted a 47mm tank gun as its main armament. It was officially adopted as the M13/40 in 1940. The following year, 1941, an improved version with a more powerful engine was developed. It was officially adopted under the name M14/41.
Based on that chassis, the upper part of the chassis with a rotating turret was removed, and a new fixed fighting compartment was installed. An assault gun was then developed, equipped with an 18-caliber 75mm howitzer, the da 75/18. Vehicles using the chassis of the Carlo Armato's M13/40 were officially adopted as the M40 da 75/18. Furthermore, vehicles using the chassis of the M14/41 were officially adopted as the M41 da 75/18. It proved effective in fire support and anti-tank combat, including ambush attacks from a low stance. It is said to be the most successful Italian combat vehicle of World War II.

About the model
The model is from Italeri's popular 1/56 scale series, which is well-received for its convenient size and well-defined parts division, balancing ease of assembly with realism. This is a plastic model assembly kit that lets you choose to build either the distinctive Italian tank, the Carlo Armato, or the Semovente assault gun. The finished length of both models is 92mm. For the Carlo Armato, you can choose to build either the M13/40 type or the M14/41 type, and for the Semovente, you can choose between the M40 da 75/18 type or the M41 da 75/18 type. The differences between them are faithfully reproduced. Of course, the undercarriage and hull shape are also realistically reproduced. The rivet pattern, unique to Italian vehicles, is also not to be missed. The affordable 1/56 scale makes it fun to add details. Italian markings are included. Don't miss Italeri's 1/56 series.
