■Product Description
●A masterpiece kit inherited by Dorami, now once again
About the actual vehicle
The King Tiger heavy tank, equipped with the highly powerful 88mm gun as its main armament, was completed in 1943 during World War II and began combat deployment in 1944. It adopted the 71-caliber 88mm KwK43 tank gun, which had a longer barrel than the Tiger I, as its main armament. In addition, the turret's frontal armor reached 180mm and the hull's maximum armor reached 150mm, making it a powerful weapon that could withstand any Allied anti-tank gun. Less than 500 King Tigers were produced by Henschel by the end of the war, but they demonstrated overwhelming power against the Allied forces. The King Tiger's tracks came in three types: a 600mm wide type that was fitted during transport, and an 800mm wide type that was normally used. The last to be adopted was the Kgs73/800/152 single-link battle track, which was used in combination with an 18-tooth sprocket wheel.
About the model
This is a new kit from the Dragon brand, based on a masterpiece kit previously released by Dragon.
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that recreates the heroic appearance of the King Tiger in the Ardennes during World War II. In particular, it features a vehicle from the German Wehrmacht's 506th Heavy Tank Battalion, which received and equipped the King Tiger in August 1944 and participated in the Battle of the Ardennes in 1944. The hull, turret, and other parts are sharply finished. The tracks accurately reproduce the Kgs73/800/152 track links, a characteristic of this kit, down to their shape. In addition, the drive sprocket wheel is also modeled after an 18-tooth drive sprocket. Furthermore, updates have been added to various parts of the hull to more accurately reproduce the vehicle that was active in the Ardennes. Many photo-etched parts are also provided to enhance the detail.
