About the actual vehicle
During World War II, the German army, which emphasized mobility, developed many wheeled armored vehicles. One of them was the Sd.Kfz.234/4 Pakwagen. Designed for off-road capability, the vehicle had an elaborate mechanism of 8-wheel drive, 8-wheel independent suspension, and 8-wheel steering. It was equipped with a V-type 12-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine. It achieved a top speed of 80 km/h. Several variations were developed to take advantage of the 8-wheeled armored vehicle's mobility, and the Sd.Kfz.234/4 Pakwagen was one of them. The vehicle was equipped with the 7.5cm Pak40, a 46-caliber gun known as a masterpiece of German anti-tank guns. It is said that 89 units were produced after the end of production of the Sd.Kfz.234/3, which was equipped with a short-barreled 7.5cm howitzer.
About the Model
This is a new kit from the Dorami brand, based on a masterpiece kit previously released by Dragon.
The model is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Sd.Kfz.234/4 Pakwagen, one of the variations of the Sd.Kfz.234, a unique German armored reconnaissance vehicle from World War II. This set includes machined aluminum parts for the long-barreled 7.5cm gun barrel, as well as metal marker poles and photo-etched parts to express details. Notable features include the reproduction of the basic body shape, the details of the open-top fighting compartment with front and rear driver's seats, and the reproduction of the mechanical undercarriage of the vehicle, which employs the distinctive 8-wheel drive and 8-wheel steering system. The 7.5cm Pak40 mounted on the open-top vehicle is also reproduced in detail, providing ample realism. Finished length approximately 190mm.
