■ Description
Pennsylvania is a battleship of the United States Navy. Named after the state of Pennsylvania, it is the third ship to bear the name. Pennsylvania, the flagship of the U.S. Navy, has been full-fledged since its construction, and was the flagship of the Pacific Fleet during the opening of the Pacific War. It suffered minor damage during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and, after returning early, underwent a modernization to refer to the battleship Nevada between October 1942 and February 1943.・During the Battle of Leyte in October of that year, she fought with the West Village Fleet, but was unable to fire a single shot because her radar was obsolete. In August 1945 she was flooded and sunk by a Japanese air strike while stationed at Okinawa. After repairs, Pennsylvania, along with the battleship Nevada, the aircraft carrier Saratoga, and the Japanese Navy's main gate, became a target ship and sank with radiation.・It was used in structural studies. Pennsylvania was awarded eight battle stars for World War II service.
