This is a re-release by Dencom Models of the Hanging Cage kit, one of the Monster Scenes series released by Aurora in the 1970s.

Dencom Models is re-releasing various kits from the Monster Scenes series, a popular series of monsters and creatures that Aurora, a company with many fans, especially among American modelers, released in the 1970s. This kit models a hanging cage, known as one of the torture devices seen in the Middle Ages.

The iron cage suspended from a frame is often seen in depictions of medieval prisons. Human-shaped cages are also an indispensable item in horror movies.

The kit is 1/13 scale and reproduces this human-shaped hanging iron cage, the Hanging Cage, along with the hanging frame and base. The finished height is 279mm. There are 28 parts, and assembly is snap-fit without glue. The cage part is reproduced in two sections. Even after completion, the model can be detached from the hanging frame and the cage can be opened and closed. The pulleys and winches attached to the frame are movable. Hanging strings and other accessories are also included. The included comic-style assembly instructions are also a notable feature.
