■Product Description
Musashi, the last battleship built by Japan, entered service in August 1942 as the second ship of the Yamato class. In February of the following year, it replaced Yamato as the flagship of the Combined Fleet.
In April 1944, its anti-aircraft armament was significantly strengthened, and it participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June. For Operation Sho-Go 1 in October, its deck was painted black to delay detection by enemy aircraft. Furthermore, only Musashi's hull was repainted in a light gray.
During the same operation (Battle of Leyte Gulf), Musashi endured five fierce attacks by US Navy carrier-based aircraft, taking 17 bombs and 20 torpedoes, and continued to withstand the onslaught, but sank in the Sibuyan Sea on the 24th of the same month.
