■Product Description
The Ship NEXT series Yamato is now available in a special edition with easy-to-apply wooden deck stickers!
Designed with a snap-fit system that does not require glue, this series is a cut above conventional kits.
It significantly lowers the barrier to entry for ship models, allowing you to easily enjoy a realistic finish.
The product is modeled after the final appearance of the ship during Operation Ten-Go in April 1945.
Compared to Operation Sho-Go in 1944, it features the addition of triple machine guns on both the port and starboard sides and the removal of the antenna masts at the stern.
[Hull and Bottom]
The hull is divided into left and right halves, separated by the waterline.
It is molded in a special gray color that mimics the battleship gray used at the Kure Naval Arsenal.
The portholes are specially designed to represent the ship with many of them closed, with recessed engraving for unclosed windows and raised engraving for closed windows, creating a sharp and detailed reproduction.
The external electrical conduits attached to the sides of the hull are accurately represented, even down to the fastening points.
The bottom of the hull is made into a one-piece part using slide molding, eliminating the need for seam treatment.
The bulbous bow at the bow is realistically reproduced with a three-dimensional design.
The rudder is a three-dimensional, angular shape, different from that of the third ship, Shinano.
The surface of the rudder is highly detailed, even showing the seams of the steel plates.
[Main Guns]
The main guns can be elevated and rotated.
Achieving both a minimum number of parts and realistic molding.
The direction of the 46 cm main gun barrels is open using slide molding.
To reproduce the additional machine gun mounts on the roofs of the second and third main guns, dedicated parts are provided for both the main gun roofs and machine gun mounts.
The secondary guns are rotatable, and the barrels and turrets are a single one-piece structure.
[Bridge]
The bridge employs a split and slide mold to minimize seams between parts, and the parts are integrated. The Type 22 radar on both sides of the bridge is a special part that reproduces its relocated appearance.
The 15-meter rangefinder and compass are designed to rotate.
The additional crew waiting area and enlarged signal station deck at the rear of the bridge are provided as special parts.
[Chimney and Mast]
The chimney is a left and right combination type, and the steam exhaust pipes, whistle pipes, and monkey ladder are all represented as one piece. The cap part (grille) at the top is hollow, creating a very realistic molding with a sense of depth.
The mast has a two-piece structure and is designed to integrate the Type 13 radar that was installed during this period.
[Aircraft]
Two types of aircraft are included as special dark green color parts.
One each of the Type 0 (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and the Type 0 observation aircraft.
The panel lines are recessed, and the propellers are integrated with the fuselage using slide molds for precise detailing.
[Wooden Deck Decals]
□These are custom parts specially developed to create an even more precise 1/700 snap-fit Japanese Navy battleship Yamato. Simply apply two decals to easily enhance the overall sense of weight and realism of the model.
□The wood grain pattern (in the direction of the centerline) of the wooden deck decals is precisely reproduced down to the smallest detail so that it is clearly visible even at 1/700 scale.
□The texture of the actual wooden deck is faithfully reproduced. The color tone of the deck surface is emphasized, creating a more realistic atmosphere.
□The thickness of the decals is minimized to reduce the height difference when applied.
□Detailing can be easily done without compromising the ease of assembly provided by the kit's original "snap-fit" system.
□All assembly holes of various sizes on the deck, as well as mounting holes for small parts, are precisely cut out. It can be applied perfectly as is without any troublesome additional processing.
□The wooden deck decals have a yellowish tint.
○Pre-cut decals with excellent adhesion and conformability are included, making it easy to paint the details!
・Includes waterproof canvas for the main and secondary guns, the walkway behind the No. 3 main gun, the naval ensign, and the Hinomaru mark on the carrier-based aircraft.
・Includes the banner of "Non-Reason, Law, Authority, Heaven," the Kikusui mark next to the smokestack, and the flag of Vice Admiral Seiichi Ito, the last commanding officer.
○A black base designed with a straight line base that is not conspicuous is included for display after completion!
○Glueable bonus parts are included for users who want a more precise look.
The bonus parts are 78 machine gun ammunition boxes, mast supports, and antenna supports on the secondary gun roofs.
The box art is by Yoshiyuki Takani and depicts the Yamato sailing at high speed in a clear sky.
