■Product Description
The Japanese Navy's standard "warship gray" specification, which was never actually used, is now available with photo-etched parts!
●The product is based on the shape of the ship as it was when it was completed in November 1944, and was created in 3D with a completely new design and new molds in 2017.
●The hull is made of pre-colored parts that mimic the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color (warship gray).
●The bottom/hull parts are divided at the waterline, so both waterline models and full-hull models can be made.
Although the actual ships were sister ships Yamato and Musashi, a distinctive feature is that dedicated parts are used instead of sharing parts to express the differences.
The aircraft carriers are of the planned type.
The hull is divided into left and right halves, and the arrangement around the bow bellmouth is reproduced with accurate research.
Some parts, such as the canvas openings on the sides, are expressed with highly conformable seal material.
The portholes lined up on the sides are reproduced with delicate engraving to show the difference between closed and open shapes.
The hull bottom parts reproduce the bulge shape which differs from that of the Yamato. The parts are pre-colored in the hull bottom color (red), so no painting is required.
By selecting which parts to attach, you can finish it as a waterline model or a full-hull model.
The rudder comes in two types: a round shape that is the same as the conventional theory of the Yamato, and a round shape that is similar to that of the aircraft carrier Taiho, which has been mentioned in recent years.
The flight deck is made of two pieces. The parts are divided into the concrete-covered deck section and the outer edge section, making it the optimal shape for painting.
The concrete-covered section contains molded parts that are light gray, which is brighter than the battleship color.
The bridge is made into a single part using a slide mold. All four sides have detailed sculpted details for a realistic look.
The shape of the funnel and the structure near the aft boat deck are three-dimensional based on recent documents and research.
The high-angle gun mounts feature strip patterns, and the hangar walls have monkey ladders, achieving a high-density model with intricate carvings on surfaces that tend to be monotonous.
The retractable radio antenna mast is foldable, allowing you to recreate the scene during launch.
Four types of carrier-based aircraft are included: "Shiden-kai," "Ryusei," "Saiun," and "Ohka."
The Shiden-kai is reproduced in two colors: the common dark green and an orange color that imitates the prototype Shiden-kai II.
The landing gear of the Ryusei, Saiun, and Shiden-kai is molded as one piece, and separate parts for the landing gear with even more detailed carvings are also provided.
The included stickers are specially designed to correspond to the concrete-floored flight deck, which is different from conventional products.
The included stickers also include canvas coverings on the sides of the hull, linoleum on the bridge floor, and white lines on the flight deck. This allows for color representation without painting.
In addition to the stickers, decals for painting are included, featuring white lines on the flight deck and Hinomaru (Japanese flag) markings on the aircraft.
Bonus parts include adhesive-type "horizontal binoculars" and "machine gun ammunition boxes," parts for detailed finishing.
Etched parts are included to represent the delicate ship's rigging that cannot be fully expressed with injection molded parts.
