■Product Description
The 5,500-ton light cruiser "Kuma," with its distinctive vertically laid linoleum deck, is now available as a new model with a hull bottom!
The product is designed as a snap-fit kit that does not require glue, setting it apart from conventional kits.
Assembly is entirely snap-fit, and both waterline and full-hull types can be built by dividing the parts at the waterline (excluding bonus parts).
●The product is modeled after the latter half of 1942, before the anti-aircraft armament was strengthened.
・Unlike the horizontally laid linoleum decks of typical warships, the Kuma's unique vertically laid linoleum is reproduced with dedicated parts.
・The hull is a Kuma-specific part representing the early wartime state before the portholes were closed. It is a separate part from the Tama.
・Since there is a record of the ship entering dry dock at Kure Naval Arsenal in August-September 1942, the main parts of the warship are painted in a relatively bright color that imitates the "Kure Arsenal color".
★Bow
The differences in the surface of the steel plates/strips (anti-slip) on the anchor chain deck are finely detailed with delicate carvings.
The external electrical conduits are represented with appropriate height and contrast to make the conduits and fasteners look good in the model.
★Main guns
There are two types of shield canopies, depending on whether or not there is a knuckle (bending angle), but Kuma is depicted as having a knuckle.
★Bridge
Even small details such as the pillars below the observation post on the side of the bridge are rendered in three dimensions without omission, resulting in a design that improves the precision after completion.
★Torpedo armament
Both forward and aft torpedo tubes can be rotated (in firing position).
★Central Section
The central section of the hull reflects the thickness of the armor plates and the three-dimensional shape of the rivets in many places.
The funnel is represented with a Kuma-specific part that has an early-type rainwater removal device (a distorted shape with a bulging top).
The davit on the port aft side reproduces the appearance of the large replacement that was installed.
The catapult is a newly designed part of the Kure Type 2 Model 3 catapult that was equipped during the war.
The seaplane is a newly designed part of the Type 94 Model 2 seaplane reconnaissance aircraft. The 3-piece structure reproduces the carrier-based aircraft with large floats.
★Rear/Stern
The aft shelter deck section is designed and divided into battleship gray on the deck edge/side and linoleum gray on the horizontal surface at the appropriate positions.
The tip of the No. 1 linked mine rail at the stern is represented in a folded state, and its appearance is accurately represented without any omissions.
