(Basic Specifications)
・The product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing, assembly, and painting.
・The scale is 1/700, and it is a full-hull specification including the bottom of the hull.
・The product is composed of conventional (Special Series) molds and newly added molds.
・The part below the waterline is made with molds designed in 2025, and the part above the waterline is made with molds designed in 2019. br>
(Product Specifications)
・The product is modeled after the third ship of the Mogami class, "Suzuya," as it appeared during Operation Sho-Go 1 (Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944.
・The hull cross-section is different from that of the Mogami/Mikuma, and the machine guns and radar that were modified based on lessons learned from the war are provided as dedicated parts.
(Hull)
・The hull parts for the later Mogami class ships "Suzuya/Kumano," which have a sloped side (mid-deck level), are dedicated parts.
→The side cross-section is a dedicated mold part that differs from that of the earlier Mogami/Mikuma.
→The width of the anti-aircraft gun deck is a dedicated part that is 1.0 mm (on the model) narrower than that of the Mogami/Mikuma.
→The external electrical conduits are molded integrally with the hull, expressing a different running shape than that of the Mogami/Mikuma.
・The portholes are shown as they were closed based on lessons learned from the war.
→Reproduced using a dedicated mold prepared separately from the Mogami-class heavy cruisers, including Suzuya, from 1941-1942
・Parts configuration divided into left and right sides
(Bridge)
・Transparent parts for the bridge windows to give a more realistic finish
・Uses bridge structure parts specifically for Suzuya/Kumano with boiler room air intakes on the sides of the bridge
・Delicate grating is sculpted onto the floor of the anti-aircraft command post and compass bridge
・The anti-aircraft command post comes with binoculars parts that add precision when attached
・A dedicated part is provided for the machine gun mount added to the front of the bridge to reproduce the difference from 1942
・The foremast is a Suzuya-specific part that reproduces the individual ship's characteristics in height and crossbeam height
→Equipped with one Type 21 radar, two Type 22 radars and an E27 radar
→The No. 22 radar is a miniature size that pursues a sense of scale and is realistically sculpted
(Equipment/Central part)
・Suzuya has a thin chimney, which is a characteristic of having the same 10 boilers as Kumano
→A special part is included that is different from the Mogami and Mikuma, which have a thicker front flue
・The funnel cap is a molded part that is in a "removed state"
・The steam exhaust pipe is designed as a separate part that increases the sense of precision
・The air intake at the rear of the chimney (below the searchlight) is a part exclusive to Suzuya/Kumano
・The linoleum deck is a special part because the placement of vents and equipment is different from Mogami/Mikuma
・The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun mount is a part exclusive to Suzuya/Kumano, and the back of the mount has a protrusion exclusive to Suzuya/Kumano・The torpedo tubes are specially developed parts for heavy cruisers, separate from the existing ones for the aircraft cruiser Mogami.
・The position of the torpedo tubes can be selected and reproduced in any orientation.
→The normal state along the centerline and the rotated firing position can be reproduced.
・The shelter section where the torpedo tubes are installed is three-dimensionally modeled based on official drawings, including the spare torpedo storage area.
・The floor surface reproduces the strip pattern with delicate, high-quality engraving.
・The catapult (Kure Type 2 Model 5) is made using slide molding. Realistic reproduction of the side/top design
・The aircraft work deck reproduces the air intake that was not present on Mogami/Mikuma, slightly forward of the center
(fitting/stern side)
・The aft mast is a Suzuya-specific part that reproduces the individual ship's characteristic of the crossbeam height
・A special part equipped with a Type 13 radar on the tripod section, which is different from that of 1942
・The aft mast is a Suzuya-specific part with a sloping, Y-shaped top and is reproduced with a radar room
・Different crane parts from Kumano, and lightening holes with precise sculpted details Its distinctive shape
・Parts for additional machine gun mounts on the aft bridge and stern are provided.
・Special parts are provided for the sides of the aft bridge to reproduce the different air intakes compared to the Mogami.
・The antenna masts installed on the roofs of the 3rd and 4th main gun turrets are special parts that reproduce the unique shape of each ship.
(Fixtures/Armament)
・The elevation angle of the main gun barrels is fixed, but the turrets can be rotated even after completion.
・The 25mm machine guns (triple/twin/single) come with precision machine gun parts where the barrel and mount are separate parts.
→The molded color is battleship gray for the base and gunmetal for the barrel.
→For painting, the design makes it easy to paint and paint different colors by assembling and gluing the runners together after each color has been painted.
(Hull bottom)
・The hull bottom parts are a single piece structure for both left and right sides.
・The side bulges below the waterline are made into separate parts, while the hull bulges above the waterline are represented as one with the hull.
・The shape of the shaft brackets and the curved shape of the eddy plates are realistically represented.
・The thickness of the rudder mounting area is reproduced, and the surface of the balanced twin rudders is engraved to give it a three-dimensional design.
・There are water intake and drainage ports on the bottom of the hull. Expressed through sculpting
・The bilge keel is integrated with the bulge, and the bulge reproduces the larger external shape after performance improvements
(Aircraft)
・Two Type 0 (three-seat) seaplanes and one Type 0 observation aircraft are included
・The molded color is gray to improve workability (prevent damage when cutting gates)
(Included Decals)
・Two types of decals, a total of two sheets are included
・One sheet of decals includes markings such as the naval ensign, national flag, and the Hinomaru on the aircraft
→Three sizes of naval ensigns, etc. are available. The actual dimensions of the 10-width, 6-width, and 3-width aircraft are reproduced in 1/700 scale. →Includes the Hinomaru (Japanese national emblem) on carrier-based aircraft, friendly identification stripes (yellow stripe), etc., and the Hinomaru also includes the late-war version without the white border.
・One decal sheet including the ship's name at the stern, white lines for the aft mast, waterline mark, etc.
→The ship's name at the stern comes in two types: gold and solid battleship gray.
