The Bell AH-1S Cobra is an attack helicopter for ground support.
The Cobra series served as the escort for the CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter during the Vietnam War.
It was developed from UH-1 Iroquois.
The main improvements from Iroquois are concentrated in the front of the pelvis.
We're going to reduce the frontal area of Iroquois to about one-third, and we're going to put the pilot and gunner in tandem vertical rows.
We're adding stabilizer wings on both sides of the hull, and we're adding stability in high-speed flight, and we're adding missiles.
We're using it as a platform for rocket launchers.
The main rotor is a door hinged rotor that improves the speed and mobility of the aircraft.
The basic weapon is an Emerson-made TAT102 cannon torpedo, a 7.62mm machine gun, or a 20mm machine gun.
