A prototype with a vibrant color scheme!
The US-2 rescue seaplane was developed starting in 1996 as the successor to the domestically produced US-1A rescue seaplane. While the basic design followed that of the US-1A, improvements were made to the engine output, cabin pre-pressurization, the adoption of a computer-controlled fly-by-wire system, and the introduction of infrared night vision equipment. It was certified for unit use in 2007. It has excellent short take-off and landing performance, and in combination with its unique wave-breaking device, it can take off and land on the sea with wave heights of up to 3m. At the time of rollout, the first prototype was painted in a red base color, and the second prototype in a blue base color, both of which were highly visible.
●Can be assembled as either the red "Prototype No. 1" or the blue "Prototype No. 2"
●Decals include both TRDI specifications and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force specifications
●Main landing gear can be selected for flight and landing
●Flaps can be selected for "level flight specifications" and "takeoff/landing specifications"
●Display stand included
●Size: Approximately 23 cm in length
