The R35 GT-R Spec-V was developed as a high-spec model with numerous tuning modifications aimed at improving lap times on circuits, and was released in February 2009.
A notable feature is the inclusion of a high-geared boost system, which, when a switch on the steering wheel is pressed, provides a maximum torque of 608 Nm (62.0 kgm) for 80 seconds.
Furthermore, it features dedicated Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a two-seater conversion by eliminating the rear seats, and a reduction in unsprung weight, resulting in a weight reduction of 60 kg compared to the base grade.
The vehicle's price of 15.75 million yen set a new record for the highest price of a mass-produced Japanese car at the time.
