■Product Description
The M24 Chaffee light tank was a light tank used by the United States in World War II, and its nickname "Chaffee" is named after General Adna R. Chaffee Jr. As a successor to the M3/M5 light tanks, the T7 light tank was prototyped in 1941 with the aim of "equipping it with a 75mm tank gun and strong armor," but its combat weight reached 25 tons, so it was decided to develop the T24, which used the steering system and engine of the M5 light tank on the M7's chassis layout. The T24 prototype was completed in 1943 and after operational testing, production began the following year, 1944, and it was officially adopted as the "M24 light tank" in June of the same year, and 4,731 units were produced by August 1945. This tank made its debut in the "Battle of the Bulge" in December 1944, where it destroyed a German Panzer IV. 289 M24s were also supplied to the British Army, but the war ended before they could be deployed in combat.
