This is the "Garage Active Skyline GT-R Wide Body Carbon-R No. 9," a 1/43 scale handmade model car produced by "EIDOLON COLLECTION."
This is a 1/43 scale reproduction of the BNR32 demo car that "Garage Active" exhibited at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025.
【Vehicle Description】
Based in Fukuoka, "Garage Active" is a popular shop known to GT-R fans nationwide as a professional GT-R shop, mainly focusing on the second generation (BNR32/BCNR33/BNR34). What really boosted the shop's reputation was the wide body kit for the R32 that was announced at the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon.
In developing this kit, the first thing to decide was the ideal suspension, ride height stance, and wheel size. Based on that, 19-inch deep-rim wheels were determined, and the fender lines were restyled to beautifully cover them. While utilizing the original press line connecting the front fender arch to the top of the rear fender, a 40mm widening of each side was achieved.
In other words, when viewed from directly beside it, the impression is almost the same as the normal version, and only when viewed from the front/rear at an angle can you see that a significant widening of the body has been achieved, making it a body kit for adults, so to speak.
Currently, influenced by the global JDM (Japanese domestic tuned car culture) boom, Garage Active's name recognition is increasing on a global level, and in 2022, their demo car was displayed at the SEMA Show, America's largest automotive parts trade show, which generated a lot of buzz.
[Model Explanation]
The prototype is a normal car body designed based on 3D scan data of the actual car, which is common to all of our BNR32 models, and the wide body molding data obtained by 3D scanning Garage Active's demo car was "attached" in 3D.
In terms of the process, it would be less troublesome to scan the entire car body and replace it directly with the original data, but when we line up our various BNR32 specifications, we use the above method because it ensures overall uniformity and consistency, and also highlights the differences between each specification.
In addition to the accurate reproduction of Garage Active's wide body, the most striking feature of this model is the carbon pattern that covers the entire exterior of the body. Since the carbon pattern cannot be reproduced with paint or pad printing, we apply intricate carbon pattern decals to the entire body.
Since decals are just flat sheets, applying them to a three-dimensional body without wrinkles is extremely difficult, and it takes about half a day to finish one car. Furthermore, after applying the decals to the body, we paint it with clear green and clear coat, and then polish each car by hand to a mirror finish.
This model car is basically the same as the one that was sold in limited quantities of 70 at the Garage Active booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, but the color of the center disc (spokes) of the wheels has been changed from gunmetal to white.
The wheels are made of machined aluminum with excellent roundness, and the center disc (spokes) has been replaced with white metal cast parts instead of brass machined prototypes, aiming for a texture just like the real car.
The interior, which faithfully reproduces the real car, including the roll cage connected to the body with gusset plates, is also one of the highlights. Enjoy this "custom GT-R for adults" that, despite its bold modifications, appears simple at first glance.
