●The Martini-colored Porsche 935 Turbo is a must-see
About the actual car
The Porsche 935 Turbo was the machine that Porsche prepared for the 1976 World Championship, when the Manufacturers' Championship was contested with Gr.5 (Group 5) racing machines, known as "Silhouette Formula". The engine is an air-cooled horizontally opposed 6-cylinder equipped with a turbocharger. In its first year, the 1976 season, it had a single turbo, but it was later updated to a twin turbo, and the displacement was also increased. Improvements were also made to the body in pursuit of aerodynamics, and it brought Porsche the Manufacturers' Championship for six consecutive years from the 1976 to the 1981 season. In the 1976 24 Hours of Le Mans, its debut year, it was entered by the works team. The pair of Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schruti achieved a class victory.
About the Kit
This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Porsche 935 Turbo that finished 4th overall and won its class at the 1976 24 Hours of Le Mans. The scale is 1/24, with a finished length of approximately 190mm and a width of approximately 85mm. It accurately models the 1976 works machine. The splendid cockpit is also reproduced in detail. From the roll bar to the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and shift lever, everything is reproduced in detail, conveying the tension unique to a competition machine. The engine is mechanically modeled with details on the underside and rear, including the exhaust pipes and turbocharger, with some parts being separate. The markings reproduce the car number 40 driven by Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schruti, who won their class at the 1976 24 Hours of Le Mans.
