This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the AMX-30/105 tank, which was developed and deployed by Forrance after the war.
About the actual vehicle
The AMX-30 was the main battle tank of France, with development beginning in the late 1950s. Initially, the plan was to develop it jointly with Germany, but in order to find specifications suitable for the operation at each time, it ultimately became an independently developed vehicle. A prototype vehicle was completed in 1960. Deployment began in 1967. The engine was a Hispano-Suiza horizontally opposed 12th generation supercharged diesel engine. It achieved a top speed of 65 km/h. The main gun was a French-made 56-caliber 105mm rifled gun CN-105-F1. In addition, it was equipped with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun and a 7.62mm machine gun as secondary armament. Production of the AMX-30 continued until 1974, and it was used and saw action not only by the French Army but also by Spain, Greece, Cyprus, and other countries.
About the model
This model is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the AMX-30, the main battle tank of the French Army developed after the war. It has 269 parts and the finished product is 270mm long and 88mm wide. The distinctive design unique to French tanks is realistically reproduced. The lower part of the hull is a box-type construction with a bottom and left and right side panels. The distinctive shape of the bottom of the hull is noteworthy. The suspension arms are also separate parts and their mechanism is reproduced in three dimensions. The tracks use easy-to-assemble belts. The upper hull is a single piece, while the onboard tools, lights, and wires are separate parts, allowing for delicate detailing. The turret accurately models the curved design. The cupola is a separate part, and the hatch can be opened and closed even after completion. Details such as the handrails on the sides of the turret enhance the realism. The kit includes one driver figure and one commander figure. This first post-war French-developed tank is a must-have for any military collection.
