About the actual aircraft
The EA-18G Growler was developed by the US Navy as a successor to the Grumman EA-6B Prowler and has been in operation since 2009. It is an electronic warfare aircraft developed based on the fighter jet, F/A-18 Super Hornet, and has a crew of two. The pilot and a WSO (Weapon Systems Officer) are seated in the rear seat. Equipped with advanced electronic warfare equipment such as the AN/ALQ-99 tactical jamming system and the ALQ-227 communications jamming system. Powered by two General Electric F414-GE-400 turbofan engines, it achieves a top speed close to Mach 1.8. Operated by the US Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force, with over 170 units produced.
