About the actual machine
The E-2C Hawkeye was an early warning aircraft with a large disk-shaped radar system on the rear of the aircraft. The first successful flight was in 1960, and it began operations in 1964.・The E-2C is capable of detecting, identifying, alerting, controlling airborne commands, replacing land-based radar sites, and communicating effectively with air operations. Since its introduction, electronic systems and equipment have been gradually improved and updated, but production began in 1971 with the E-2C. The E-2C is powered by two powerful Allison T56-A-427 turboprops. In addition to pilots and co-pilots, the three crew members responsible for the operation of electronic systems are on board.
