Due to popular demand, a re-release has been decided! Experience the ultimate Godzilla sculpt in a plastic model kit.
A newly sculpted Godzilla joins the "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS" series, which delivers masterpiece sculpts as plastic model kits!
The prototype is created by Shinobu Matsumura, a leading expert in natural history/biological sculpting.
Using promotional still photographs from the 1954 film "Godzilla" as a starting point, he reconstructs and recreates the essence of various Godzillas from the past 70 years. Rather than recreating a suit or CG, he depicts in three dimensions the appearance of the ancient giant creature that appeared in Tokyo.
The collapsed Nichigeki Building and the elevated railway tracks of the Japanese National Railways at the base, and the pose in which he is biting and grasping a train, enhance the sense of realism.
Matsumura's passionate sculpt is condensed into a fixed-pose plastic model kit with a total of 8 runners. The organic yet complex surface details are faithfully reproduced from the original prototype. Despite the complex division, sturdiness is ensured by the structure used in previously released series, where the surface parts are attached to a base body. The parts fit together with high precision, which is often a challenge with this method, and the parting lines are not noticeable.
The assembly itself is enjoyable, and once completed, it becomes an ornament that can withstand display even in its unpainted, basic state. Of course, if you do paint it, the combination of the colossal creature Godzilla and the collapsed structure will surely stimulate your painting imagination.
