With the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War and the simultaneous adoption of the Ninety-seventh-Class medium tank, the result was spectacular until the beginning of the Great East Asian War. However, the main 57 mm cannon, which was mainly used to assist the infantry, would not be effective in anti-tank combat and would eventually be forced to fight. As an improved version of the high-speed anti-tank gun equipment that was conceived from the beginning of development, an improved version equipped with 47 mm tank guns and a large artillery tower was completed in 1917. It was sent to the Philippines shortly before its adoption.
