The Type 95 Light Tank, which appeared in 1935, had a variant called the ""Northern Manchuria Type,"" which had small auxiliary road wheels installed between the main road wheels to cope with the unique terrain of the Chinese mainland. This kit reproduces this type, and in particular, the vehicle that was deployed in the Nomonhan Incident.
The Nomonhan Incident was a large-scale military conflict between the Soviet army and the Japanese army that began in 1939 (Showa 14) as a border dispute between Mongolia and Manchukuo (at the time), and had a major impact on subsequent Japanese and international affairs. In addition to large-scale ground battles, aerial battles and tank battles were also fought on the battlefield. In particular, in tank battles, the Japanese army deployed the Type 95 Light Tank, as well as the Type 89 Medium Tank and the Type 97 Light Armored Car, and the Type 97 Medium Tank for the first time in combat.
