■Product Description
The Kaiten, a human torpedo in which the crew acts as the eyes of the torpedo to launch attacks on enemy ships, was manufactured in a short period of about 5 months starting in March 1944, when the war situation was deteriorating. It utilized the engine and propulsion system of the ""Type 93 Oxygen Torpedo,"" which the Navy boasted to the world at the time, and had 1,500 kg of explosive, twice that of a torpedo, and a range that allowed it to launch attacks from outside the range of enemy ship torpedoes. Initially, it was intended to be launched from submarines, and several attacks were carried out, but launch bases were also established in coastal areas on the mainland where enemy landings were expected.
★The product includes kits for two ""Kaiten Type 1"" torpedoes.
★Three types of markings are included: for actual combat deployment, training, and launch experiment from the light cruiser ""Kitakami"".
