Formula One in the 1970s was a time of technological competition where innovative ideas for faster racing followed, and even the March 240 was a fantasy six-wheeled Formula One car born from a different idea than the Tyrrell P34.・The 240 designed by Hard, as the name suggests, used a unique layout called the front two wheels and rear four wheels. It was an innovative project that aimed to increase the area of the tires by turning the rear wheels into four wheels, improving the drive and cornering performance.・While the development of effects technology was an important topic on how to get grip efficiently, the March 240 was expected not only to improve the mechanical grip, but also to improve the air flow to the rear wheels. This model reproduced the prototype specifications of the March 240, which had not yet been put into service.・It was built as a photographic vehicle. It was never actually raced in Formula One, but the bold idea of the six-wheeler became a symbol of the free-flowing Formula One competition of the 1970s.
