■Product Description
The large rear wing mounted high on the rear of the Cooper T86B that competed in the 1968 season is a specification unique to the early days when teams were competing with each other to come up with ideas in search of downforce. This model reproduces the 1968 Canadian GP specification driven by Vic Elford, a famous driver who was active in Le Mans and Targa Florio. While the Lotus 49 of the time supported the rear wing by extending struts from the suspension, the T86B had a unique layout that extended stays from the engine/gearbox side to support it high up. This is a fascinating car that shows the trial and error that was unique to 1968 when aerodynamic devices were still in the development stage.
