This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that allows you to choose between assembling the Panzer III Command Tank Ausf. J, which was based on the Panzer III Ausf. J, one of the command tanks developed and operated by the German army during World War II, and the tropical specifications of the early production Panzer II Ausf. J.This kit is a deluxe version that includes parts such as Magic Tracks and a metal gun barrel.
About the actual vehicle
Throughout World War II, the German army developed command vehicles and communication vehicles equipped with high-performance radio communication equipment in order to achieve more efficient operation and combat of tank units. Command tanks used by tank units were modified vehicles based on tanks and put into service. Among them, many vehicles based on the Panzer III were developed, and one of them was a command tank with a 42-caliber 5cm tank gun, based on the Panzer III Ausf. J. The machine gun mounted on the vehicle was removed and the amount of ammunition carried by the main gun was reduced to make space for communication equipment. It is said that nearly 180 units were produced between 1942 and 1943.

The engine deck on the upper hull to which the antenna is attached is accurately reproduced using slide molding to recreate the shape of the Ausf. J. The engine hatch is a separate part and can be assembled in either open or closed position. In addition, the turret is also integrally molded using slide molding. The hatches on both sides of the turret can be opened or closed, allowing you to choose from a variety of diorama settings and different expressions. The main gun is made of machined aluminum parts that even reproduce the rifling, resulting in a highly realistic finish. The tracks also use assembly-type Magic Tracks, allowing you to enjoy a highly three-dimensional finish.
