This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the F-111A Aardbergh of the US Air Force, the world's first practical variable wing fighter aircraft, which was operated from 1967 to 1996.
About the actual aircraft
The F-111 Aardbergh, operated by the US Air Force, has made its mark in history as the world's first practical variable wing aircraft. Development by General Dynamics began in 1961, and it successfully made its first flight in 1964. It was adopted by the US Air Force in 1968. Its most distinctive feature was its variable-sweep wings, which gave it short take-off and landing capabilities, allowing it to take off and land from a distance of only 2,000 feet (about 600m) with its wings extended. Once airborne and with its wings folded, it could fly at 2.2 times the speed of sound. In addition, it was equipped with terrain-following radar, giving it the ability to fly supersonic along the ground. Furthermore, its side-by-side two-seat cockpit employed a modular emergency ejection system, making it a highly regarded aircraft with state-of-the-art equipment at the time. It saw action in the Vietnam War and also participated in the 1991 Gulf War. It was widely used in strategic bombing, ground attack, and even electronic warfare missions on various fronts throughout different eras. By 1976, a total of 562 aircraft of all types had been produced. It was operated by the US Air Force as well as the Royal Australian Air Force.

About the Model
This model is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit of the American F-111 Aardbergh, known as the world's first mass-produced variable-sweep wing aircraft. It models the early F-111A model. The finished model measures 311mm in length, faithfully recreating the F-111's style. The F-111's most distinctive feature, the variable-sweep wings, move in conjunction with each other in the model, allowing you to enjoy the changes in its style even after completion. The cockpit, with its side-by-side two-seat layout, is realistically reproduced, including the seats and control stick. In addition, the landing gear, including details such as the caws and its distinctive layout, is accurately modeled. Furthermore, the kit includes the armament mounted on the fuselage and under the wings. Markings for the US Air Force are provided. With camouflage paintwork also included, this is an aircraft that you'll be looking forward to seeing finished.
