It's the world's first practical variable-winged fighter, operated from 1967-96, a plastic model assembly kit that replicates the US Air Force's F-111A Eardberg on a 1/72 scale.

As the world's first practical variable-wing aircraft, the F-111 Edwards, operated by the U.S. Air Force, earned its name in 1961 when it was developed by General Dynamics and successfully flown for the first time in 1964. It was adopted by the U.S. Air Force in 1968. The most significant feature of the adoption of the variable-wing was that it had a short-range takeoff and landing capability at a distance of only 2000 feet, about 600 meters, and was capable of flying at 2.2 times the speed of sound when the wings were closed. In addition, it was equipped with ground tracking radar and was capable of sound flight along the surface.
