This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Cromwell Mk.IV cruiser tank, a tank developed and operated by the British Army during World War II, in 1/56 scale. This set also includes marker-type paints and adhesive for easy painting.
About the actual vehicle
Production of the Cromwell Mk.IV began in 1943, and it played an active role as the main battle tank of the British Army in the latter half of World War II. It was developed as an evolution of previous vehicles such as the Crusader and Centaur, and a major feature was that it was equipped with the newly developed Meteor engine. This engine is an improved version of the Merlin, known as a masterpiece of fighter aircraft engines, adapted for vehicle use. It is more powerful than the Liberty engine previously used in cruiser tanks. It improved the mobility of cruiser tanks, which were becoming larger with increased armor. The original Cromwell was equipped with a British 6-pounder gun, but the Cromwell Mk.IV was equipped with a 36.5 caliber 75mm tank gun as its main armament, increasing its anti-tank capabilities and firepower. It appeared on the European front after the Normandy landings, engaging in firefights with German armored units, and was also deployed in the Korean War after the war.
