The Sd.Kfz.171V Panther tank is said to be the finest German tank of World War II. Its hull, with its sloped armor design that provides excellent ballistic protection, is said to have been influenced by the Soviet T-34 tank that Germany faced in the German-Soviet war, and it is equipped with a powerful 75mm gun. It made its first appearance in combat at the Battle of Kursk, which began in July 1943. The Panther tank underwent improvements as production continued, and the A type was produced after the initial mass-produced D type. The transmission reliability was improved, and the turret was equipped with a new type featuring a cupola with a periscope. More than 2,000 units were produced between 1943 and 1944.
