■Product Description
The USS Phoenix was the fifth Brooklyn-class light cruiser of the United States Navy, named after Phoenix, Arizona. Completed in 1938, the ship deployed to Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean from early 1942, engaging in convoy escort duties. In 1943, it was incorporated into the 7th Fleet and engaged in escorting landing forces and bombarding shore targets, and in 1944, it engaged in a night battle with Japanese destroyers during the Battle of Biak Island. In late October of the same year, during the Battle of the Philippines, it participated in the Battle of Surigao Strait as part of Task Force 77. After the war, in 1951, it was sold to Argentina and operated by the Argentine Navy for a long time, but was sunk by a torpedo attack during the Falklands War in 1982. The kit consists of an injection-molded plastic body. The "Standard Edition" includes decals, while the "Deluxe Edition" includes photo-etched parts, metal gun barrels, deck mask stickers, and more, in addition to the contents of the "Standard Edition". This is a wonderful kit that reproduces the appearance of the Phoenix in 1944 as a waterline model with delicate details.
