■Product Description
T72-B3 Arena
The T-72, which is used as the main battle tank in Russia, has been in production for over 50 years since its prototype was first produced in 1970. However, it has been modernized through improvements and is still deployed in combat today. The T72-B3, which is the base of this kit, is a modernized version of the outdated T-72B/B1/BA. Arena (Arene-M) is an Active Protection System that uses radar to detect and intercept drones and other projectiles attacking tanks.
In July 2026, Ukraine announced that a T72-B3 believed to be equipped with Arena-M had been deployed near the village of Mayak in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. It seems that this interception by the T-72B3-Arena was successful. The Russian assault at that time was repelled and the vehicle was ultimately destroyed. There are opinions that tanks may be able to revive their original mobile warfare capabilities with the new active protection system.
