BB-46 Maryland was the second ship of the Colorado-class commissioned in 1921, and was the first 16-inch gunboat built for the United States Navy.
Although damaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she returned in January 1942. She was the only U.S. warship to leave a cargo mast on the first floor.
