■Product Description
The P-1 patrol aircraft was developed as a successor to the conventional propeller-driven anti-submarine patrol aircraft P-3C and began operations in 2013. It is the world's first operational aircraft to adopt a "fly-by-light" control system, and has thorough countermeasures against electromagnetic interference. It is also equipped with a newly developed acoustic and radar system that improves the search and detection capabilities against submarines and suspicious vessels.
The first prototype (XP-1) made its maiden flight in September 2007. After a long period of flight testing, it was modified into the multi-role aircraft UP-1 in June 2015, after the procurement of mass-produced aircraft began. It is currently assigned to the 51st Air Squadron at Atsugi Air Base and is engaged in the testing and operation of various equipment.
