■Product Description
The Minekaze-class destroyer was the first ocean-going destroyer designed by Japan itself. Fifteen ships of this class were built between 1920 and 1922. The change in hull design from the previous British design significantly improved seaworthiness. Furthermore, it achieved a top speed of 39 knots and was equipped with four 12cm single guns and three 53cm twin torpedo tubes, thus enhancing both speed and armament. The first ship, Minekaze, was completed in 1920 and mainly engaged in patrol activities and convoy escort duties during the war.
