■ Description
The Typhoon Destroyer was the first Japanese-designed offshore destroyer. Fifteen ships of the same type were built between 1920 and 1922. The shipping was significantly improved by making shipping changes from previous British designs. Furthermore, the speed and armament were enhanced with 39 knots of maximum speed, four 12-centimeter single-shot guns, and three 53-centimeter combined torpedo tubes. The first Typhoon was built in 1920, and during the Great War was primarily engaged in patrol and convoy guard duties.
