■Product Description
DDG-179 "Maya" was commissioned in March 2020 as the third Aegis destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Equipped with the latest ballistic missile defense capability (BMD 5.1) and the latest Aegis system, and also featuring the JMSDF's first CETPS (Cooperative Engagement Capability System), its capabilities have evolved dramatically compared to previous Aegis destroyers. With improved stealth capabilities, it is the largest destroyer in Japan, excluding the helicopter-carrying "Hyuga" and "Izumo" classes. "Maya" was originally painted in the conventional livery, but later received a low-visibility paint scheme to improve visibility.
