■ Description
Landing ship tanks in the Maritime Self-Defense Force began with the LST-1 tank landing craft that were supplied by the United States after the war.
These supply ships became obsolete in the mid-1970s, requiring replacement ships because of their durability. First, the first domestically produced ships of the type, the "Adhumi" (1500 t), entered service in 1972 with three ships, followed shortly thereafter by the expanded "Mihung" (2,000 t) from 1975, followed by three ships, the "Mihung", the "Uncle", and the "Mihung").
It's a ship type, soldiers on landing.・Considering the landing of the vehicle, a two-stage folding bowl lamp with a view opening and a waterproof door was installed at the bowhead of the shallow horizontal bottom-box vessel, and a vehicle deck was installed on the third deck of the rear deck.
We've also got two LCM landing cranes.
We have about 200 people, 50 vehicles, 74 tanks, 10 tanks, or 500 tons of supplies.
On the battlefield, it was equipped with a 68-inch 50-inch 76 mm fast-firing cannon for fire suppression at landing sites, and a 40-mm air-to-air radar gun at the stern.
Except for the lightning, it was equipped with the same armour as the small frigates of the time.
"We" have been in service since the 1st Marine Supply Battalion, a unit under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard.
In 1992, during the Land Self-Defense Force's Cambodian PKO mission, they joined the "Mingu" fleet to form a Cambodian transportation supply unit consisting of three ships of the same type, the "Uncle" supply vessel, the "Ooo".
She was decommissioned in April 2000 after serving in a variety of missions including maritime transportation, disaster dispatch, disaster prevention training.
Over the course of his service, he travelled a total distance of about 380,000 nautical miles.
