The Wave Series Yamato is now available in a special edition with easy-to-apply wooden deck stickers!
(Structure and Specifications)
・Composed of pre-colored parts, the desired coloring can be reproduced without painting.
・Snap-fit assembly, so it can be assembled without using glue.
・A sea surface base is included to reproduce the ship sailing on the ocean and to display it in a more realistic and easy way.
(Product Features)
・Modeled after the Ten-Go Operation (Okinawa Special Attack Operation) in April 1945. Scale is 1/700.
・The display sea surface base three-dimensionally represents the wake generated from the bow, sides, and propellers.
Hull
・The hull is divided into left and right halves, separated by the waterline. Molded in a special gray color that mimics the battleship color used at the Kure Naval Arsenal.
・To depict the portholes as mostly closed, dedicated side parts are used, with recessed engraving for open ports and raised engraving for closed ports, resulting in a highly detailed reproduction.
・The raised external electrical conduits attached to the sides of the hull are accurately represented, including the fastening points.
Armament
・The main guns can be elevated and rotated. Achieving both a minimal number of parts and realistic molding.
・The direction of the 46 cm main gun barrels is set to open using slide molds.
・To reproduce the additional machine gun mounts on the No. 2 and No. 3 main gun roofs, dedicated parts are prepared for both the main gun roofs and machine gun mounts.
・The secondary guns can rotate, and the barrels and turrets are a single-piece structure.
Bridge
・The bridge uses division and slide molds to minimize seams between parts, and the parts are integrated.
・The No. 22 radars on both sides of the bridge are dedicated parts to reproduce their relocated appearance.
・The 15-meter rangefinder and compass are designed to be rotatable.
・The additional crew waiting area and enlarged signal station deck behind the bridge are provided as dedicated parts.
Chimney/Mast
・The chimney is a left and right combination type, with the steam exhaust pipe, whistle pipe, and monkey ladder all represented as one piece.
・The cap part (grille) at the top is hollow, creating a very realistic and sense of depth.
・The mast is a two-piece structure, with the Type 13 radar that was installed at this time integrated into the design.
