Upgrade your NEXT Akagi! The flight deck marking stickers/decals have been revised and updated (2026), and the warship color is molded to resemble the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color.
(Structure and Specifications Features)
・Composed of pre-colored parts, the desired coloring can be reproduced without painting.
・It is assembled using a snap-fit method, so it can be assembled without using glue.
・Full hull type that reproduces even the bottom of the ship. It can also be assembled as a waterline type by dividing the parts at the waterline.
(Product Features)
・The product is modeled after the appearance of the ship at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 (at the start of the war).
・A product that was produced in a later year/with a different mold design than the same scale/different series (Special Series).
・The parts are colored with a gray molded color that resembles the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color, in accordance with historical facts. (Registered with Yokosuka Naval District, entered Yokosuka port in April-May 1942)
・The hull bottom, wooden deck, linoleum covering, etc. are each made of 8 pre-colored parts.
Hull
・The hull is divided into left and right halves, separated by the waterline. It is molded in a special gray color that imitates the battleship gray used at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal.
・The portholes and external electrical conduits on the sides of the hull are expressed with sharp, three-dimensional sculpting.
・Fairleaders and other fittings and molded parts are realistically reproduced with sharp sculpting.
Bow
・The anchor deck at the bow has fittings molded as one piece, while the anchor chains and other parts are reproduced with three-dimensional molding.
・The crane rails under the stern flight deck are separate parts, showing attention to detail even in hard-to-see areas.
・The pillars and auxiliary pillars supporting the flight deck are reproduced with delicate parts.
Flight Deck
・The flight deck is made of separate parts for the steel and wooden sections. Color separation can be expressed without painting.
→The wooden deck is realistic even without painting thanks to delicate carvings, and has depth that allows for panel lining when painting.
→The drainage gutters, windbreaks, and truss structure on the underside of the flight deck are rendered in detail.
→The old flight deck at the rear is shaped as a separate part.
・The elevators have their eyelets expressed with delicate carvings.
Bridge, Mast, and Radio Antenna Supports
・The bridge base is a single molded part using a slide mold that balances ease of assembly with accurate modeling.
→The bridge base is reproduced with delicate carvings down to the smallest details such as windows and blackboards.
・The upper part, such as the compass bridge, is a layered structure that is assembled by overlapping parts.
・The tripod-shaped mast is made as a single part.
・The radio antenna supports, a total of four mounted on both sides, are foldable and movable.
Fitting
・The tip of the chimney is a separate part and is molded in black to reproduce the paint scheme without painting, and the depth of the exhaust port is also reproduced.
・The port side high-angle gun is designed to be rotatable.
・The 20cm guns mounted on both sides of the stern are exquisitely sculpted, even expressing the wrinkles of the canvas.
・A gangway part is included to reproduce the ship at anchor (a 0.8mm opening is required for installation).
Bottom
・The bottom of the ship has a single, integrated shape.
→Colored in a dark red (bottom color).
→The bilge keel is molded as a single piece on the bottom of the ship.
→The water intake and drainage ports are expressed with delicate molding on the bottom surface of the ship.
・The rudder, shaft, shaft bracket, and screw propeller are each made into separate parts and are precisely molded.
→The molded color of the screw propeller is gold.
→The molded color of the rudder, shaft, and bracket is the same as the bottom of the hull.
Carrier-based aircraft
・The included carrier-based aircraft are the three types (Zero Fighter, Type 99 Dive Bomber, and Type 97 Torpedo Bomber) that were on board when the ship was lost between December 1941 and June 1942.
The Zero Fighter and Type 99 Dive Bomber are molded in light gray, and the included Hinomaru marking stickers make it easy to reproduce the coloring.
・The Type 97 Torpedo Bomber is molded in dark green.
Each aircraft is made using one piece, and three of each type are included, for a total of nine aircraft.
Included bonus parts
・If you want to pursue a more accurate shape, additional/replacement bonus parts that can be glued on are included.
→A type with a hollow tripod section for the mast is included.
→The machine gun ammunition boxes are separate parts, which can be placed/glued around the machine gun mounts to enhance realism.
→The landing gear of the carrier-based aircraft are separate parts, which can be reproduced by cutting off the conventional molds and replacing and gluing them.
Included stickers and decals
・Two types of stickers are included: stickers for straight assembly without painting, and decals for painted models.
・Three types of stickers are included.
→Pre-cut stickers with excellent adhesion that make it easy to paint the details.
→All three types are pre-cut stickers that are easy to work with (some bonus parts covering very small areas need to be cut)
→①Sticker that includes white lines on the flight deck and small areas of linoleum flooring.
→①The white line markings have been revised to accurately represent the pattern based on re-research (from July 2026 production)
→①This sticker can also be used to make the shafts gold, and as a bonus, it includes landing guidance lights and navigation lights.
→②Includes stickers specifically for the interior (wooden color) of the ship's boats and the canvas parts of the motor launch.
→③Includes the Hinomaru markings that are displayed on the wings of the carrier-based aircraft.
・One type of decal is included
→Mainly the white line markings on the flight deck.
→The decal size is approximately 190 x 50 mm, printed in two colors: white and red.
→The white line markings have been revised to accurately represent the pattern based on re-research (from the July 2026 production batch)
