■Product Description
The second ship of the Nagato-class battleships, "Mutsu," one of the Big Seven, is now available with newly added parts!
●The product is modeled after the appearance of the second ship of the Nagato-class battleships, "Mutsu," from December 1941 (at the start of the war) to June 1943 (at the end of the war).
Newly designed parts have been prepared to unify the differences in the degree of reproduction of equipment etc. depending on the product release period, and some parts have been divided to take painting work into consideration.
・The 12.7 cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 has been subdivided into a total of 5 parts, increasing the molding resolution from the existing 2 parts.
・The 9 meter cutter has been made into 2 parts to take painting into consideration, and the mount is a separate part, and it is possible to choose between a deck-integrated mold. (Except for some parts)
・The 11 meter motorboat has the canvas and the steering room/engine room roof as separate parts to take painting into consideration. Each part is painted and then assembled and glued later.
・The 12-meter motor launch can now be represented in its shape without the canvas.
・The ship's boat cradles feature molded details of uneven surfaces and lightening holes, resulting in a more precise and detailed model.
・A new chrysanthemum emblem is provided for the bow.
・New navigation lights are provided to add detail to areas that were previously omitted.
・Decals for the ship's name on the stern (in a solid battleship gray color) and the white lines on the mast have been added.
・The Type 96 25mm twin machine guns are now standard parts consisting of two components, reducing the painting/color separation work.
Hull
・The hull is a single piece molded for both the port and starboard sides.
・These are parts exclusive to Mutsu, reproducing the different fairleads and anchor lookout positions compared to Nagato.
・The sides feature finely sculpted external electrical conduits around the entire hull.
Each Deck
・The upper deck is a single piece with delicate wooden deck carvings.
・Air intakes and other details on the deck are expressed with sharp carvings, and the wooden deck has a depth of carving suitable for panel lining.
・The bridge base (bridge deck) is made as a single piece using slide molding.
Bridge and Mast
・The secondary gun reserve command post, which is a distinguishing feature from the first ship Nagato, is reproduced with four windows using dedicated parts.
・The lower bridge is a single piece using slide molding.
・The bridge is assembled by stacking each layer, and the floor surface reproduces details such as grating.
・Each layer of the bridge also has parts for detailed equipment, including binoculars.
・The mast tripod is divided into two parts to reproduce the external shape.
・The cross tree and top yard reproduce complex shapes using a combination of integrated and divided parts.
Main Turret and Chimney
・The main guns have the barrel and canvas integrated, and the elevation angle is fixed.
・The main gun barrels are in an open form using slide molding.
・The chimneys are a two-part structure with the left and right sides glued together, and the steam exhaust pipes are separate parts.
・The funnel caps are in a detached state, giving them a highly detailed appearance.
Aft Mast and Aviation Equipment
・The aviation work deck uses slide molding, and the deck side walls are also reproduced in shape.
・Two Type 95 seaplanes are included, molded in gray.
・Other
・The strip patterns on the floor, such as the anti-aircraft gun mounts, are expressed with fine engraving.
・The 25mm machine guns are precisely molded, a two-part structure that is easy to paint, and the 2018 molded parts are included as standard.
・The molded color is gray for the main parts, hull bottom plate, aircraft, and machine gun parts.
●Two types of decals are included
・Decals that include markings for the naval ensign, the Japanese flag, and aircraft.
・Three sizes of naval ensigns, etc. are provided. The dimensions of the actual 10 width, 6 width, and 3 width are included in 1/700 scale.
・Includes the Hinomaru (Japanese national flag) and friendly identification stripes (yellow stripes) for aircraft, and the Hinomaru also includes the late-war version without the white border.
・Decals that include draft markings, the chrysanthemum emblem on the bow, and the ship name on the stern (two types: gold and solid naval gray).
