In 1985, Yamaha developed the TT-F1 specification FZR750 (OW74) based on the commercially available FZ750, aiming to conquer Suzuka.
In the 1985 season, the OW74, sporting Tech21 colors, competed at Suzuka. It was then entrusted to Sonauto Yamaha in France and repainted in Gauloises colors for the Bol d'Or 24-hour race held at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
Ridden by leading French riders Christian Sarron, Jacques Corneus, and Thierry Espi, it made a strong impression on fans with its capabilities.
