■Product Description
After the first Antarctic expedition, the Soya underwent major modifications each time it was used for the second and third expeditions.
The foredeck was changed to a flat state without the cutouts on the sides of the hull.
A large helicopter landing deck was added. The bridge was extended to the side.
A forward gantry mast was added, and the position of the aft gantry mast was moved.
A thin bilge keel with four sections on each side was installed. Large helicopters were also carried on board, etc.
In particular, the third refit focused on strengthening air transport capabilities with large helicopters,
making it possible to transport sufficient people and supplies even when the Soya could not approach the base due to bad weather conditions.
The kit includes the upper hull, bridge, deck, helideck, gantry mast, etc.
The aircraft included are a newly developed DHC-2 seaplane (1 unit) and a Sikorsky S-58 helicopter (2 units).
