■Product Description
The Ki-84 Hayate (Type 4 Fighter) was a fighter aircraft produced by Nakajima, a prestigious manufacturer that also produced the Ki-27 (Type 97 Fighter), Ki-43 (Hayabusa), and Ki-44 (Shoki), the main fighter aircraft of the Japanese Army. Equipped with a 2000-horsepower class Ha-45 engine, it excelled in speed and maneuverability, and also possessed powerful armament and armor protection.

When it was officially adopted at the end of March 1944, it was produced under the name of the "Decisive Battle Aircraft of Greater East Asia" and fought valiantly in the defense of mainland China, the Philippines, Okinawa, and the Japanese mainland.
Especially on the Chinese mainland, it fought on equal or even superior terms against P-51s and other aircraft, and even managed to regain air superiority for a short period.

However, problems arose after mass production began, including a decline in materials and manufacturing technology, and consequently, performance issues with the engine and other components. Despite these unfavorable conditions, around 3,500 units were produced, comparable to the Zero Fighter and Hayabusa.

After the war, the Hayate was tested in the United States and was highly praised as "the best Japanese fighter aircraft to appear in the Pacific War."
