■Product Description
The Zero Fighter Model 52 was a Japanese Navy fighter aircraft that played an active role in the Pacific War during World War II.
The Zero Fighter Model 21, feared by the enemy for its high performance, began to lag behind newer enemy fighters in terms of speed and weaponry by the 1940s.
Therefore, following the Model 32 and Model 22, the Model 52 was developed.
To improve speed, the wingspan was shortened to 11m, the cowling (the cover over the engine) was redesigned, and a thrust single exhaust pipe (an exhaust pipe that uses engine exhaust to obtain a small amount of thrust) was installed.
This allowed it to reach a maximum speed of 590km/h, 25km/h faster than the Zero Fighter Model 22's maximum speed of 565km/h.
A total of approximately 6,000 Zero Fighter Model 52 aircraft were produced and remained in service until the end of the Pacific War.
《Data》
Crew: 1 pilot
Wingspan: 11m
Length (to the tip of the propeller spinner): 9.12m
Height (from the ground to the tip of the vertical stabilizer): 3.51m
Engine: Sakae 21 air-cooled radial engine
Engine output: 1,100 hp at an altitude of 2,850m
Maximum speed: 590km/h
Armament mounted on the aircraft: 2 x 20mm cannons = top of the nose, 2 x 7.7mm machine guns = wingtips
(Engine output was measured at the altitude where the Zero Fighter Type 52 was most efficient in flight due to its atmospheric pressure and temperature. This altitude varies depending on the aircraft.)
