■Product Description
[A veteran light cruiser born in the Taisho era, reproduced in its final appearance at the end of the war]
The Japanese Navy's 5500-ton class light cruiser, born in the Taisho era, is said to have been designed based on British Royal Navy cruisers. This is a plastic model assembly kit of the Nagara, the first ship of the Nagara class, of which six ships were built. The elegant British style, including the straight and smart hull that pursued high speed performance and the bow known as the spoon bow, has been faithfully modeled. The Nagara fought valiantly during the Pacific War, participating in the Philippine invasion, the Battle of Midway, and the Battle of the South Pacific, until it was sunk by a torpedo attack from a US submarine in August 1944. The kit reproduces the Nagara in its final appearance with strengthened anti-aircraft armament. It would also be interesting to modify it to represent its appearance at the start of the war.
