[A battle-hardened light cruiser that supported the Combined Fleet for 22 years]
The Nagara-class was an improved version of the Kuma-class, a 5500-ton class light cruiser built during the Taisho era. The third ship of the Nagara-class was completed in 1922 and fought valiantly during the Pacific War in operations such as the invasion of the Philippines, the Battle of Batavia, and the Battle of the Philippine Sea, before disappearing into the Pacific Ocean in August 1944 after being torpedoed by a US submarine. This is a plastic model assembly kit of the light cruiser Natori. The long, slender hull, which boasted a high-speed performance of up to 36 knots, is faithfully modeled in its appearance around 1935. The three funnels, seven 14cm guns, torpedo tubes, catapult, and seaplanes are all finished with a sense of three-dimensionality.
