■Product Description
[An air base on the open sea, clad in armor]
Completed in March 1944 during the later stages of the Pacific War, the aircraft carrier Taiho was highly anticipated as the ace of the Japanese Navy's mobile fleet, but just three months later, it disappeared into the Pacific Ocean due to a submarine attack during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. This is a plastic model assembly kit of the Taiho. The armored flight deck and the unique enclosed bow style, where the outer plating of the bow extends all the way to the flight deck, are reproduced in detail. The bridge and armament parts are also sharply finished. The mast can be set to either combat or cruising position, and the elevator can be set to either raised or lowered position. A wide variety of carrier-based aircraft, such as the Zero Fighter Type 52 and the Tenzan carrier attack aircraft, are also included.
