■Product Description
[Britain's Timeless Masterpiece]
The Spitfire fought valiantly as the main fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force during World War II. Its beautiful elliptical wings and sleek fuselage were far more refined in structure and aerodynamics compared to other fighters of the time, and it was equipped with the Rolls-Royce Merlin liquid-cooled engine, renowned as a masterpiece. The prototype made its maiden flight in March 1936, and the first mass-produced Mk.I began deployment in August 1938. In the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940, when Britain faced a national crisis, the Mk.I played a central role in defending Britain from the fierce attacks of the advancing German Air Force. The German Air Force suffered heavy losses and decided to postpone its landing operation indefinitely. Because of this performance, the Spitfire came to be known as the "fighter that saved the nation" by the British people.
