[Tamiya's newly developed product: Precisely reproduces the F-35A in a size of 218mm in length and 148mm in wingspan! !] Following the 1/48 F-35A Lightning II, which was released at the end of last year and received great reviews, the F-35A is now available in 1/72 scale. The accurate aircraft shape achieved in 1/48 scale remains the same, but the parts division has been redesigned to suit the 1/72 scale. The number of parts has been reduced to less than half of that of the 1/48 scale, making it easy for users to work with, while still providing a rich set that can reproduce the fully armed beast mode. This kit is recommended for a wide range of users, from beginners to advanced modelers.
The F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation jet fighter that combines excellent maneuverability with high stealth and network operations capabilities, and situational awareness capabilities through sensor fusion. Three variants were developed simultaneously: the F-35A, a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) version for the Air Force; the F-35B, a short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) version for the Marine Corps; and the F-35C, a carrier-based (CV) version for the Navy. The F-35A, which has been adopted by many countries including the US Air Force, the Italian Air Force, and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, is expected to play a key role in the air power of Western nations.
