■Remarks
[Regarding Clothing] Tank crews of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force wear armored helmets with built-in headsets so they can communicate even inside the roaring vehicle, and goggles to protect their eyes from sand and dust. The combat uniform is basically the same as that of the infantry, but there is also equipment unique to the armored corps, such as jackets with handles on the back to pull crew members out of the vehicle in emergencies, and boots with large hook-and-loop fasteners so they can be quickly removed. In addition, when operating outside the vehicle, they wear Type 88 helmets, and gunners and drivers are required to carry Type 89 rifles.
